


At mine we rented a big moonwalk for the kids...gave out sample cake slices and cookies...and had a punch fountain set up with punch and had coffee/soda.....had drawings for cookie bouquets/gift baskets and gave away coupons for a percentage off on their first purchase from us. And had flyers printed up with choices and services etc....we also did pens with our name and number on them...people might throw away biz cards...but rarely will they throw away a pen!

Maybe have door prizes where people can give you their name and address and they can win one of your special cakes.

definitely have a drawing.........something to keep people there for a while.......(moon bounce is good.....kids never wanna get out of them lol) that keeps the parents put..........maybe even sell small items.......One decorated cookie for a dollar.......slice of cheesecake 2.50......let people have a chance to sample.....buy small things (they're more likely to buy something for a dollar than a whole cake for 30) you could even raffle off a tshirt or apron with YOUR business name on it.......people love anything FREE......and that way they'll always remember you! Good Luck, I've seen your bridal shower booths.........you'll do just fine. Also I hope you have more business than you ever dreamed of!!!!

I think everyone's ideas are great! Although I think I'd like a pen better than anything else - you are right about never throwing them away!

magnets!! I have my business card printed onto a magnet sheet that I then cut myself, packed with my business card into a clear little cello bag..the smallest candy bag.
I also have put in there other cards for related services! that would be awesome to tie it with a pretty ribbon and add the pen.
Magnets and pens..always useful items!

The raffle drawing is very important. You have now "captured" the names and contact info of the people interested enough to attend. You now have an instant mailing list for your shop!
We purchase our pens form National pen, they seem to be the least expensive so far.

If you're doing the moonjump thing, a coloring contest too - then you can give away cakes in each age category you choose and it keeps them hanging around longer. (this worked for a bakery anniversary I attended).
I like the idea of free samples: cookies, small slices of cake, free coffee, lemonade. Remember your budget for this.
I'd give away business cards/magnets. Have lots of photos of your cakes around in a couple of albums. Maybe a brochure of your prices, what you offer, how much notice you need, etc...
Balloons for the kiddles is always a good choice.
