How Do They Make Cookie Icing Shiny?

Dear Kahuna,
I use the following recipe to get that glossy icing on cookies...But it will take a longer time to dry. But the result is fantastic
450 gm icing sugar
90ml milk or water
120gm glucose
Mix water & glucose then add sugar. lastly add 1 tsp of flavouring and color.

Is Karo syrup the "white" corn syrup???


Karo is jus tthe brand - they make light and dark corn syrup
Thank You!!! I don't think we have Karo brand here in Canada, just "Royal Corn Syrup".
I use the white type.


I have used color flow on my cookies and I think they turned out and the customer really enjoy them.

Would you use the Karo syrup to replace some of the water in the royal icing? Thanks,kim
