I'm going to be making a choc. transfer with black and burgandy.

I figure the best way for the black is to start with the brown candy melts, but what about the burgandy?

I read on a thread that it's not best to use regular gel colors, but you should use candy colors.

I don't know how to get burgandy that way. Does anyone think it would be ok to just use the burgany gel color from Wilton?

Naw you really gotta use the candy colors otherwise it will seize. All you have to do is add violet to red.....experiment!

Thanks, but I looked on the Wilton website and didn't see that they sell the red candy color.

Am I missing somthing? I looked at walmart and they didn't even sell candy colors. Will Michaels or Hobby Lobby have a red candy color?

Another question I have is how concentrated is this candy color? I was wondering if I needed to buy alot of it? My choc. tranfer shouldn't be that big.

I liked that website and will def. look into ordering some things, but I need burgandy for tomorrow! icon_redface.gif

I don't know why I have trouble telling people NO! They called at the last minute for this weekend, now I feel stuck!

I might have to use colorflow instead this time.

Thanks for the info! thumbs_up.gif

wiltons candy colors are available in two sets at michaels
to make burgundy...you need to use the PREMADE red candy melts
and then add purple or violet candy color to darken it! HTH
