Does anyone have any other ideas or uses for this pan? This huge thing is just sitting on my shelf (taking up a lot of room) and I'm just wondering if anyone has any other ideas for it except making doll skirts! I'm trying to decide whether to keep it or not.

I've had mine for years and the only other thing I remember making with it was a tee-pee. Other than that, nothing.

Well, at least that is another idea I can use. I'm a cubscout mom so a teepee is a good idea.

I'd say it's a keeper, there are tons of uses.
Volcanos (there are some in my photos using the mini wondermold but you could make it bigger)
Straw house for the 3 little pigs (1979 yearbook)
hills
dinosaurs (with the mini ball
faces (in an old yearbook they made little miss muffet, old king cole and mistress mary)
just think of the things that have that shape and you'll find tons of uses

not sure how often you get tasked with doing "over the Hill" cakes but maybe you could use it as the hill and have soembody climbing it! That's about the only think I can think of....

You can use it to make a bee hive, a mountain for an over the hill cake or a truck/off road cake.

You can also use it as a mermaid cake. Put the doll in the cake and decorate it to look like she is sitting on a hill with fish swiming around her.

The head and the rump of this dog are made from the Wondermold! I think it's actually quite a versatile pan.

thats what I love about this site... so many great ideas! I'm not creative, just good at re-creating. I was wondering whether to keep my wondermold or not but now I will.

Thanks so much for the great ideas! I'll hang on to this pan for sure! I'm gonna print all these ideas out and put them in the box with pan for future reference.

I've used it to make my apple cake and my cappuccino cup (both in my photos). The apple was made using two wondermold cakes--one upside down for the bottom of the apple and then the other on top. Just did a bit of carving to get the exact shape. The the cappuccino cup, it is the wondermold cake updside down with a bit more of the base cut off for better balance. It traveled just fine too!

Oh I love the dog cake, the coffee cup and the apple cakes. Great ideas guys!

Oh ya, let's not forget the cute witch cakes we can make with the mold. You can make the witch standing next to her hot steamy cauldron.

Bottom right hand corner. icon_smile.gif You could also use the ideas for the mini wonder mold pan. They would just be a larger version of it.

If you have any of the Wilton Yearbooks, you can look at the index in the back of the book and see what cakes in the book use a certain pan. I know one of the more recent yearbooks used it and the sports ball pan to make a gumball machine. icon_smile.gif

Y'all are all forgetting the most important reason to keep it, that being as soon as you toss it out you are going to NEED it for something~

I used the wondermold to make the razorback cake in my photos. I am trying to think of any other uses for it as well. (I have 2 boys, so not many requests for a doll cake! icon_lol.gif )

I used the wonder mold pan for this bell cake. It is stacked on a 8" round that I carved to get the shape for the bottom of the bell. The handle is MMF on a dowl rod.

I've seen pictures in the gallery of plungers made using this pan. They write "Another year down the drain" either on the cake itself or the cakeboard.
