Has Anyone Used A Multisize Cake Tin?
Decorating By staceyd1984 Updated 3 Aug 2007 , 12:25pm by staceyd1984

just been looking for some cake tins as i am making a wedding cake.
need different size tins and i came across a tin where you just put in dividers and pour you mixture into one section (for example the tin is 12" but you want a 10" so you put the dividers 2" in on either side and they make the new side of the tin)
has anyone ever used this type of tin??
curious about seepage of the mixture.
also it says the tin disassembles completely to fold flat for easy storage so wondering if the cake mix would leak through the bottom of the tin?
dont wanna invest in this if its gonna be no good so i thought i would ask your advice?
thanks in advance!

It is a cake pan me by a UK manufacturer, Alan Silverwood and as far as I know, it's only available in the UK.
Stacey, I have the same pan. I bought it form Lakeland a few days ago but have not used it yet, will be doing so in a couple days. I will be making 2 6x10 inch cakes. I also bought two sets of extra dividers but now I'm thinking it's too much. I bought 2 because I am moving back to the US in September and I will not be able to get them there. I have always been one to err on the side of caution
I'll let you know how the pan works.

I have these. They allow me to make two different flavors in one large pan. I would like to see what it is that you are talking about. Are they rings of some sort for round pans?

yeah thats what im talking about june, has anyone ever used one?
cant decide whether to bite the bullet and buy one!
i was looking on ebay and saw them there!

hello, these tins are great... I use mine all the time. You just have to remember to handle it from the bottom of the tin not from the sides for obvious reasons. I have use this to make various sizes and flavours at the same time and found it very easy, and obviously you do not have to buy different sized square tins which has got to be a cost saver. Also the tin does not take up too much space as it folds down flat. Happy baking.

thanks kim!
im glad to see theyre as good as i thought they would be, i'm gonna invest in one and give it a go!
of course ill have to bake a cake before the wedding to test it out, there goes the diet again cus ill have to eat it too to check heat distribution lol

Hiya June,
Those cakes look yummy! Thanks so much for letting me know how they turned out! My pan arrived in the post today, i'm so excited to use it! Im gonna bake some little mini cakes tomorrow to test out some new recipes, thought i'd try making them mini so if for some really strange reason that i dont like the cake i dont have a whole heap of it to try and give away!
Thanks again for your info!
