I saw a post on here that I can't find now that said you can add a cup of melted white chocolate to white cake mix to give it the flavor...have you done this and does it work well? I love white chocolate and I really want to try the recipe for my cake next weekend...also is there a way to add the flavor to buttercream icing this way?

Have you looked at any of the recipes here? There are several posted under the white cake recipes that use white chocolate that may work for you!

For my white chocolate cake I normally just add a box of instant White Chocolate pudding mix and an extra egg. For my buttercream, I just add some melted white chocolate to finished buttercream, yum!

I have never added it to cake mix but I have added melted white chocolate to a pound cake before and it turned out great. I have also added it to buttercream and that worked also.

I read somewhere that if you add the white chocolat pudding it doesn't add a whole lot of flavor to it...do you find that true? I LOVE white chocolate so I would like the flavor to stand out. I just found a doctor recipe that calls for shredded white chocolate coins...I wonder how that one is. Oh, and thanks for the BC insight, I will definitely add some to it!

So I am baking the cake right now and I added about a cup of real white chocolate...I had a panic attack when I started to add the chocolate to the batter because I know that water and chocolate don't go together and the cake mix called for water...it looks ok so far so I will update when the cake is done!

I hope the cake turns out well. I have never used white chocolate in a cake, just the white chocolate pudding. I'd like to know if the real thing works too!

I have done just a normal vanilla recipe and added a cup of melted white chocolate - it is great! I also added it to the buttercream frosting, so all together it was very tasty!!

I can't believe how lucky I am to log on while this question was up on the home page of CC! I'm pondering with the same questions right now...I just finished baking a white box mix with melted white chocolate and coarse white chocolate added in. The crusts of the cakes were really cooked and the cakes didn't rise as much as they usually do. Did I put too much melted white chocolate in? The cake tasted great...however, here's my real question...what is a white chocolate cake supposed to taste like? Just white chocolate? I know stupid question!

What about the white chocolate raspberry liquid coffee creamer? I know I've read around here about using that...in the mix? How much? In my buttercream? How much?

Wow...I am one of those (long) forum people now! Help! And thanks in advance!

Hi, I've never made a white chocolate cake but have made my reserach on it, I did read somewhere that a cake with melted white chocolate does not rise as a regular cake and that it is more dense, I don't know the reason why it does not rise.
Taste wise, again, I've never taste it but also read that it is to die for, a very strong chocolate flavor (nothing wrong with that) icon_biggrin.gif
Now the creamer on BC, that I've done, I just replace the milk or water for the creamer, it is awesome!!!!!!!! HTH

You can take a white chocolate pudding mix and beat it up with 1 C whipping cream, 2C whole milk and a T of vanilla and it is a super yummy filling! I bet you could even fold fresh raspberries into this. mmmm, I have to try that!

a good recipe for a white chocolate cake is
2 boxes white cake mix
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
6 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp almond extract
1/4 c oil
2 cups sour cream
8 oz melted white chocolate

Mix all dry ingrediants together w/ whisk. Add rest of ingredients, except chocolate, and combine til incorporated. Melt chocolate as you wish, temper the melted chocolate before adding w/ the batter. Add chocolate to the rest of the mix. Bake at 325. Time depending on pan size.

Using this recipe makes quite a bit of batter, i made a 10", 8" and a small 6". The recipe can be halved and makes a perfect 10".

Hope yal like it like i have!

Hi, I also have this recipe BUT mine also calls for 2 2/3 cups of water or milk. This is the white chocolate version of the wasc. Did you miss that ingredient or your don't have to add it??
I just want to make sure my recipe is correct. Thanks! thumbs_up.gif

Ok guys, sorry I didn't have time to post this yesterday but the cakes came out GREAT! OMG! I had my fiance try it and I hadn't told him what flavor it was and he loved it and knew it was whit chocolate right away. I just made the regular white cake mix and only added 1 Cup melted white chocolate...hersheys actually and not the candy melts because I was lazy and didn't want to go all the way to Michael's. Anyway, I did have to bake it a little longer because the chocolate kept it extremely moist. I bake a 10" cake 2" high for about an hour at 350 with the bake even strips on the outside of the pan! Try it, it is delicious!

just wanted to add my opinion about the white chocolate raspberry creamer.....it is a wonderful taste but doesn't have a heavy taste of white chocolate...mostly raspberry if you ask me..so I don't want anybody to go and make it with that creamer thinking it will taste just like white chocolate because (just in my opinion) it doesn't. It is still yummy though icon_biggrin.gif

Hi,
Two more questions. Is the white chocolate raspberry creamer a white color, or pink?

The recipe for the filling using the pudding, whipping cream and milk, and vanilla. What size box of pudding is used. This sounds delicious. I want to try it. icon_smile.gif Thanks

well it (the creamer) doesn't tend to color the bc because of the amount of bc I guess...I always make a double batch of icing and the use about 1/2 creamer and half heavy cream (my bc calls for this) but if you don't use heavy cream use 1/2 creamer and 1/2 your liquid for your bc.

I also use the white chocolate pudding mix and everyone loves it. They can tell the difference between before when I didn't add it and now so I think that taste is noticeable.

Sorry I should have mentioned that it is the larger size package or 2 smaller ones. I have had a hard time finding white chocolate in the larger size lately. oh and I just double checked my recipe and it is actually 2C whipping cream and 1C milk. Sorry about that typo. This is my favorite and most popular filling because you can make it with any pudding flavor instant pudding.
