HI everyone - I have a bride who wants pricing info on a wedding cake where the cake is set up above the fountain and you have the smaller cakes coming off the sides with bridges/steps linking them.
Kind of like in this site

how do you charge for the fountain etc? I am figuring buying all this equipment works out to around $160.(fountain, spearator for fountain, bridges, separator plates etc) I know I would have to rent it to them.HOw much do you charge for rentals? Any help appreciated. Thanks so much, Elaine

I dont' charge extra for those. Never have. I'm a little unique in that I always stay and cut the cake (it's included in my package pricing) so I never have to worry about getting the equipment back or mess with equipment security deposits.

It takes about an extra 7 minutes to set up a cake on a fountain. Once the fountain stand is set up, it's just a matter of setting the cake on the stand or on the table. I can't justify a bigger fee for that.

I'm sure you will find I'm the minority in this one.

Make that a minority of TWO! I also do not charge extra to use the stairs and fountains...not that I get much call for them these days! Seems they are not 'the style' now...but they get used here and there. When I first started out, I considered the purchase of various pieces of equipment an investment in my business and never added it to the price of the cake. After all, I can't even count the number of times I have used them...so why make the first person the one to 'eat' the cost so to say!
