Do you recommend subscribing to a decorating magazine? Seems like all I need to know I can find right here on Cake Central.

I subscribe to American Cake Decorating, and I buy the UK magazine Wedding Cakes: A Design Source at the newsstand in local bookstores. I think ACD is fun to read even if I don't find any cakes in the mag that I want to make. Wedding Cakes is always full of stuff I want to try, but it isn't a how-to mag. It's for brides to choose cakes from, and there are many 100's of photos in there to get ideas from.

American Cake Decorating has some really good ideas in it and some interesting tips. I think it is totally worth it. Same for Mailbox News.

I get and love MailBox News and American Cake Decorator. The same company puts them out and they come every other month, so if you get both you will get a magazine a month.

MailBox News is mostly reader submissions. They have the easy, beginner, more advance, and so on. It is great for ideas for cakes as they do themes every month.

American Cake Decorator has some really good step by step articles on many different mediums. Some buttercream, sculptured, fondant, gumpaste, and so on.

Besides American Cake Decorating magazine I also buy Magic Cakes, an Argentinean magazine which comes in both languages, english and spanish.
