Has anyone bought Wilton's Tasti Fill Pans or their Mini-Tasti Fill pans? IF so, how do you like them and how often do you use them? What size are they-- 8 inches for the regular??about 4 inches for the small?? What fillings do you use?

I have a couple of 50% off coupons for JoAnn's for next week, and wonder if I should use them to get the pans-- and should I just get the small and not the large-- or vice versa??

Any comments will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I have the mini ones. I've used them once, but I just started baking. I used them to make an "Almond Joy" cake with coconut cake (enhanced recipe, with coconut pudding), chocolate filling and buttercream frosting. Then covered outside in sliced almonds. They are super cute! I took them to a double date dinner with another couple and each cake was plenty to share between two people. They were a little difficult to work with (level, get them the same height, etc) but I really like the size and personalization options.

I have the mini ones, too. They are 4" pans, and you get four in the box to make two cakes at once. They are a great way to use up extra cake batter, if you have some left over, and they are really cute!

Here's a mini cake I made with mine:

Hi,

I have both sets, the big one is 8" and the mini is 4" (got 2 sets, in order to make 4 mini cakes at a time). I absolutely love them. I also have the Betty Crocker "Bake and Fill" mini pans but I much prefer the Wilton sets.

Both sets come with a "recipe" booklet that have cake/filling combos. I have done everything from brownies and ice cream to plain old cake and mousse.

What is neat about the mini set is I have used them to make yellow or butter cake and filled the cavities with berries and topped with whipped cream. Saves me from having to find berry shells in the store when berries aren't in season!!!

I personally think the possibilities are endless and I love just experimenting!

Toni Ann

I have the Betty Crocker Bake N Fill pan set and have used it to make the Chocolate Pecan Cherry Surprise cake lol... it sounds nasty but one customer loves it and is all he ever orders from me lmao... has ordered it twice and I've done it the same way both times...

I want to buy both the small and large Wilton fancy fills but just haven't had the money and not sure I'd ever use them for anything except this one customer... not sure it would pay off seeing as he only orders one a year for his birthday lol
