Anybody Else See This? Easybake Ovens Recalled!

This is crazy.
NOTHING is safe anymore it looks like!
Either things aren't made well these days or people are just not as bright as we used to be. I just don't know anymore!
Being in the legal field, I have seen lots of both sides of the coin,
bad products AND carelessness/negligence on the part of people too.
What is going on anymore?

You know that's so ironic. I was going to get my oldest DD an Easy Bake Oven for her birthday which is tomorrow. Instead I ended up getting her the Real Meal Easy Bake oven because she loves to cook as well as bake. That's horrible! Maybe they need to go back to the way they used to make them with the light bulbs. I know the newer ones have a heating element in them. Well maybe now with this recall they'll get it right this time.
I hope so, they used to be the coolest things!
Between this and the crap coming out of China lately, God help us!
Can't buy anything for the kids anymore without being worried.
That said - maybe it WAS made in China!

Did you see the news the other day about the dumplings made from cardboard they are selling people there? So much corruption going on,
no wonder things are not made well. Cutting corners EVERYWHERE.
But also I truly believe in some cases it is negligence at fault too.

ok...Im probably the only one....but......this is being recalled because kids are getting their hand stuck inside the oven....WHY is their hand even in it in the first place???? and why is it being used withOUT parental supervision??
Im sorry that these kids have gotten burned...but an easy bake oven....something you plug in and BAKE with should be used without supervision!
My daughter has one of these...the area that you slide the pan into has a specific tool to put in and pull out the pan....no where does it say USE YOUR HAND!

I completely agree. There is no chance I would let my DD play with this by herself. Honestly I think they need to stop marketing this thing as a toy and more as an appliance. I think that since people know it's a toy they assume it's ok for kids to play with without supervision. I feel bad for all of the kids that got hurt. I just hope that the parents don't go after Hasbro for their (the parents) neglegence (sp?).
YES!!!! That is exactly what I was getting at when I stated that often I see people sueing due to their own carelessness.
I just don't understand what has happened to COMMON SENSE.
On the other hand, there has been a lot of defective crap being sold lately, LOL...
sadly....there will be parents who blame Hasbro...and they will even sue Hasbro....honestly I hope in return of that suit they are investigated for neglect with child services....because where were they when their child stuck their hand inside a MINI OVEN.....and got badly burned!?!?!?!
I agree that there are many toys lately that havent been made improperly .....the Thomas trains were definitely needed to be recalled with lead paint...that is something that shouldnt have even made it out of the factory....but there are some recalls that get made because of a child got hurt using it improperly or unsupervised
sorry....it just drives me nuts/...I'll let it go now
