I have a young lady that wants a birthday cake with the musical "WICKED" as her theme. Obviously, I have no ideas other than maybe taking the pic from their website (the good witch wispering to the bad witch) and maybe doing something to that effect. And possibly saying, "Have A Wicked Birthday, Rachel". I thoight about maybe tracing it out and filling in with Colorflow, but every time I do this, the buttercream makes the royal/colorflow mushy after a little while. Or maybe a buttercream transfer, but the last two times I did this, the buttercream would not freeze properly and made a big mess.

Is anyone here familiar with this musical or has anyone done anything with this? Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You'll need to find out whether she is an Elphaba type or a Glinda type. The two are very different. One will be a girly, pick cake with sparkles and the other "wicked witch" green with flying monkeys and a witch on a broom etc.

well, the poster is instantly recognizable to Wicked fans.

then there is the "Defying Gravity" number where Elphaba first flies

or Galinda's flying Bubble Machine.

and of course there's the book -- The Grimmerie

which, if she's lucky she may already have or may be getting the book as a b-day gift (that could be real fun --the real book and a cake like the book -- use cake a a fake-out as if that was only version she was getting)

official website image gallery: http://www.wickedthemusical.com/gallery-stage.htm

they've got a shot of the Defying Gravity number -- easily adapted into a wondermold based cake (her dress keeps expanding as she flies)

and be sure to look at the how they did the Wiz of Oz effect -- that could be a great cake too.

(naw -- I don't like the musical! icon_rolleyes.gif)

Elphaba is NOT wicked!!!!!!! -- just horribly mis-understood, used and abused -- merely playing her part in bringing down the truly wicked wizard!!!!!

Well, Doug did a wonderful job of listing every idea (and then some!) that I came up with. thumbs_up.gif

I just have to say that I saw Wicked a couple weeks ago, and it was, by far, the best musical I have EVER seen!!! I absolutely LOVED every minute of it, and can't wait to see it again! I listen to the soundtrack all the time. I highly recommend the show to everyone!!! thumbs_up.gif

I love Doug's idea for a defying gravity cake, that's my favorite part in the show. I LOVE Wicked, it is a great show!

I am not familiar with the musical. I just checked in to see if you were from Massachusetts! Here is Mass., we use the word "wicked" interchangably with "very".
