I've been racking my brains out about a food based "glue" to secure my wine glasses to my plates for my wedding cake tiers. I don't want a them permanantly attached for reuse.

I was thinking of melting candy melts, but then it just hit me that I may not be able to have a micro handy on site when I'm assembling the tiers.

My cakes are two layers of 3" rounds, so I'm thinking the weight will help keep it steady.

Royal icing should work.

What about using a clear, double sided tape?

This is how I do removable glue... Apply clear packing tape to the surfaces to be glued, then hot glue the surfaces together. When it's time to separate the pieces, just peel off the tape and the glue comes with it.
