Father-in-law is turning 50 in August. I would like to do a 50's them; maybe decorate the cake with a record (45) on. I would appreciate any ideas of how to do this. Thanks. Cstovall

You could do a round cake iced in black. Use a sheet cake comb to "score" the grooves of the record. Have the label say "Still Rockin' at 50"

Just an idea icon_smile.gif

i did a quick search through the gallery for the 50's and they had a couple of jukeboxes that looked good. maybe you could do a jukebox and then have a fondant record that kind of sits off to the side actually stuck into the cake and then write meldancer's "Still Rockin' at 50" on the record. The jukebox cakes look like they'd be pretty easy to do but still have that "wow" factor to them.

oh forgot to add you could make some music notes and treble clefs out of fondant or gumpaste and attach them to some wires. with the record and those it would give good dimension to the cake.
