I spoke to a mother this morning who wants me to make a cake look like a "field" so that she can put two little John Deere tractors on it. I haven't worked with fondant before, and don't think I have time to master it by this Wednesday. Any ideas how do to this using buttercream??? Thanks!

Hi tastycakes,

I have done one just like you want to do, to make corn stalks what I have done is take a leaf tip and a toothpick. I rotate the toothpick while putting on the frosting just to cover it then I go back and make long leaves on it. I will post a pic in my photo album for you to see.

Good Luck

Nikki-

Thanks a lot for the idea-I'm sure I'll steal at least part of it!
