I just put the desired frosting in a sandwich or quart size plastic bag, close it and when you are ready to use it cut the one of the tip of the bag.
I do this method but with wax paper and I love it!! I use to hate filling my piping bags, it always got so messy and the clean up afterwards was horrible, now its super easy
thankyou, cause I get more on my spatula, than in the bag. I'm going to use this idea tonight in my class.
This technique also works great if you want a shaded effect. Use two blobs of different colors when you roll the cling wrap. It looks beautiful!
I've seen this used to put two or three colors in the same bag for the striping effect. It works great for that also.
Fantastic idea! Thanks for sharing. I will definitely be trying this soon.
Wow, this idea is ingenious! I can't wait to try it, it'll definitely make cake decorating so much easier. I get to have all the fun without the clean up - now THAT's a perfect world
I've seen this used to put two or three colors in the same bag for the striping effect. It works great for that also.
Always wanted to try the multi color effect but wasn't sure if I could get them to stay separated long enough in the bag or if they would all bleed together. Great idea!
That sounds nice for using mutli colors, but just using one color, I think that's a lot of work! I just fix my bags with the tips and put them in a cup and fold down the side of the bag over the cup. then fill the bag, Slide your hand under the bottom up the cup and up the side. the bag comes out of the cup no mess. plus, you can fix a couple of bags up and twist the tops and leave them in the cup till you're ready to use them.
I have seen this before and totalty forgot all about it. I sure will try to remember it. Thanks for sharing
I love this! I always get in such a mess refilling a bag. the first fill is ok but the second is a disaster. this will help heaps.
Hi................
Well done.. I should also try it soon, really that is look so beautiful.
Color also nice.
Thanks for sharing.
Your images attached are really helpful, but this is a very old trick, I know it from my mother!
Thanks soooooo much for this tip, if i could see you i would hug you!!! i'm a bit ocd about getting messy hands and when i use a piping bag i always get in a mess! due to this i rarely pipe anything. Can't wait to get the nozzles and bag out and have a go now. Thanks again, i will be passing this tip on! xx
This is awesome. I waste so much icing trying to get it into the bag and not all over my hands and tabletop. I will certainly try this next time.
I was just going to ask if it would help with getting 2 colors in the bag....awesome tip...thanks for sharing!
AGoodmorning 'cake centralers', I too would like to thank newlywedsw for, not only this wonderful tip but for the time in putting up the step by step pictures. I've always liked visual effects with instructions to keep my mind on track as it tends to go way off beat between what I read and what I conger up in my mindset leaving me to abort the task at hand for another day mostly. No disrespect to whom ever posted that it was an old trick her mother knew about...but isn't it wonderful these days to be able to share those tips on the www with a click of a few buttons! Have a great day all and cheers from Down Under
ANewlywedws, Even if you have 22 pages of people thanking you I just had to write you a "Thank You" note too. I am going to try it tonight! ;-D
AThis is a great tip! Thanks for sharing with us! I will be trying this for sure! I hate when I have to refill the piping bags and gets a bit messy ugh lol thanks again! :D
