Here's a basic recipe. If you do a Google search for Cookies from Cake Mix you get a lot of links:

COOKIES FROM CAKE MIX

1 box cake mix (any flavor)
1 or 2 eggs
2 tbsp. shortening (or butter)
Water
Fruit, nuts, coconut, chocolate bits, etc. (optional)

Use 2 tablespoons water for crisp cookie or 1/4 cup for soft cookie.
Drop by spoonfuls. Or roll into balls and flatten. Or form into roll, chill and cut into slices. Use your imagination. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

This is the recipe our family uses:
Swirled Chip Cookies
1 pkg. fudge marble cake mix
1/3 cup oil
1 egg
6 oz. choc. chips
water

Preheat oven to 350*. By hand, blend mix (do not add the little choc. packet yet), oil, 3 tbsp water and egg; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Transfer 1/4 (a little less) dough into a small bowl. Stir in 1 tbsp water and contents of small choc. packet. Spoon dark dough over light dough and swirl with a knife. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool 1 minute before removing from sheet.

These are THE ONLY chocolate chip cookies our family EVER makes!! Always turn out awesome!!! thumbs_up.gif

Ok, we were talking earlier about 'TopSecret Recipes' and this is mine! LOL

I made this one up one rainy afternoon when the kids wanted cookies and I was all out of margarine.... my neighbor asked me to make some for her to take to a Marine picnic and it won the $50 top award!

1 box Pillsbury Devil's Food Cake Mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
@ 1/4 chocolate syrup
Add in: nuts, choc. chips, Andes mint pieces, Reeses chips...

Dump in a bowl and mix with a wooden spoon until it comes together - then I add the chips etc.....

Form into balls and bake at 350 for approx. 10 minutes - Makes 2 dozen

The ones I made for my friend had the Andes mints and if you are a chocolate mint lover, they are decadent! And from start to finish, this recipe take about 20 minutes - it is sooo easy. I don't make them often because I kept having to lie to the children and tell them the dog stole them off the counter...... it's true icon_redface.gif I would eat 9 or 10!

** edited to add this: forgot to say if you don't have any choc. syrup, just use about 1/8 - 1/4 c. water to moisten - I just like the extra 'fudgie-ness' icon_biggrin.gif and also forgot to say that if you mix 1 tsp. of flour with the add-in, it will stick better **
