I really want to try chocolate transfers but I cant get candy melts from my country. Can i use white chocolate instead? If so, how is the best way to melt it. I always find it more difficult than dark chocolate. Any tips?
Thanks in advance.

You should be able to use white chocolate. You will need to find oil based colors to color it with. I think you can use Americolor if you add something to it. Not sure what you add, someone else can probably tell you. You also want to add a teaspoon of shortening to your chocolate to help it set up better.

I melt mine in the microwave on 50 percent power for about 1 minute. Take out the bowl and stir really well. If not completely melted, put back in at 15-20 second increments on 50 percent power.

Hope this helps you.

Can you get almond bark at the grocery store, in baking section this is what I use. It isnt as tempermental as real white chocolate and it is very inexpensive.

If I do not have candy melts, I take one cup of chips either white or chocolate and add one Tablespoon of crisco to it then microwave for about a minute and stir until smooth, if it still is not completely smooth, microwave another 30 seconds, and mix until smooth. You can also do the double boil method just don't get any water in it. Chocolate cannot get to hot or it will clump up. Treat chocolate with love and tenderness.
