Decorating By sistersinsweets Updated 21 Jun 2005 , 7:20am by mousey

I AM MAKING A BIRTHDAY CAKE FOR A LITTLE BOY FOR HIS SECOND BIRTHDAY AND HE WANTS A JOHN DEER TRACTOR.
HOW IN THE WORLD DO I PULL THIS ONE OFF???? THE MOM ALSO WANTS HIM TO HAVE HIS OWN TRACTOR TIRE CAKE FOR JUST HIM TO EAT.
PLEASE HELP
THANKS HEATHER

I just did a baby shower cake in John Deere. I borrowed an idea from a site (www.sugarcraft.com) and changed it into a baby shower cake. I made the cake look like fields and had a John Deere (child's toy) in the field. The one field had "planes, trains and John Deere toys Thank the Lord for little boys". Go to the sugarcraft site and do a John Deere search, you should be able to find some of their novelites. They have some really cute suggestions. Good Luck!!

You can do a search in the gallery for 'tractor' or also look at my photos.
I did the tractor pan cake and also did a cake that looked like fields and added a toy John Deere Gator although you could use a tractor. This way the little boy gets John Deere cake and a toy at the same time.
My little boy was much more interested in getting hold of the Gator than he was about the cake!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL THE IDEAS!!!!! I THINK I AM GONNA END UP DOING A COLOR FLOW OR BCT OF A TRACTOR. DOES ANYONE AHVE ANY LINKS TO GOOD COLORING PAGES I CAN USE?
THANKS A MILLION
HEATHER

I just did one for a b-day this past Sat. I haven't uploaded the pic, but I will soon and will pm you with it too. I just did a BCT tractor, on a yellow based cake, and green "dot" border. It turned out really good. Not sure about the tractor tire cake though!!

Hi. Here's a few links to tractor coloring pages:
http://www.fun-with-pictures.com/tractor-coloring-page4.html

There are many more available. Just do a search on Google or Yahoo! until you find the one you want.
Just an idea, but what about a Bundt pan for the tire? Just cut indentions around the edge for the "tread" and frost black.
Hope you find what you're looking for.

Just came across a thread on Wilton.com with a couple of tractor/tire pictures:

Maybe this will help.
