I want to doctor up a Pillsbury Moist Supreme Devil's food (there is pudding in the mix) but have never done this before. I don't have the CMD book but plan on purchasing it in the near future. I have read tht you can add an extra egg and 2 T flour or something like that. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thank you!

There's 3 cake extender recipes on here (cake mix extender, enhanced cake formula, and super enhanced cake formula) and not only extend the amount of batter and fill your pans more, but they also make your cakes taste very moist and make your cakes taste more like scratch.

I add an extra egg, and buttermilk, milk or sour cream for moistness.

Here's the link for The Cake Mix Doctor website. Lots of good ideas there and some recipes

I just doctored up the devils food box mix the other day... I added 1/2 cup sour cream, 2 TBS cocoa powder and one small box of chocolate instant pudding, along with all the regular ingrediants called for on the box. This cake is awesome, I do not even like chocolate cake but I love this one!

If you are using a mix with pudding follow this recipe:

1 pack mix
4 large eggss
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

If you are using a mix without pudding add:

1 3.9 ounces chocolate instant pudding mix

I used buttermilk instead of sour cream and butter instead of veggie oil. It was DELICIOUS icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif
