I believe it is 2 Tbsp. My Culinary book says 1/2 oz is 1 Tbsp.

Cindy

It is 2 tblsp. or 1/8 cup. Hence 1 cup = 8 fluid ounces. HTH!!

One of the confusions with the system of measure we use is the term ounce. It is used both for measuring weight and volume. Though the volume measure is properly called fluid ounces many times "fluid" is left off, thus the confusion. One fluid ounce is alway 2 tablespoons. But the volume of 1 ounce (weight) will vary with the density of the item being measured.

In this case 1 ounce(weight) of sugar is 2 tablespoons. Checked it with my kitchen scale. Behind my Kitchen Aid my digital kitchen scale is my favorite tool in the kitchen. I've converted all my recipes to grams it makes it so easy to scale recipes.
