I found the Strawberry Cake from Scratch recipe here on CC...but how do I make strawberry puree? Do I have to have a blender? 'Cause I don't!

I haven't seen the recipe, but couldn't you use a potato masher or even a wooden spoon??
I make a strawberry pie, where you mix sugar and cornstarch, then add mashed strawberries and water and cook to a boil, so it thickens to a gel- like what you can buy for shortcakes, but real.
Sounds like a great recipe, I will look for it!
