I was wondering if anyone had used the DH lemon cake and if it tasted any good. I once made one (but I dont remember the brand) and I didnt think it tasted all that lemony. Just wondered if DH was any good because my mom bought me a few boxes when they were on sale. Or maybe someone know a way to doctor it. I dont really care for the fake lemon taste, like the lemon pudding etc.

I use DH lemon all the time and I really like it. It has a really nice lemon flavor. I actually just used it for a friend's wedding this weekend w/ strawberry BC filling.

icon_smile.gif I use the DH Lemon cake too......I get alot of good comments about the flavor,,,that it's not tooooooo overpowering in lemon flavor....I put the lemon cakes after baking and cooling in the fridge overnite, they seem to "hold" better when I decorate them,, plus they seem to have that really good flakeyness?.

I tried a recipe on the side of a PB White mix, it called for lemonade frozen concetrate.

It was really good and lemony, but not over powering. Always get requests for that cake.

I always get rave reviews when I make DH lemon cake. I always add a box of lemon pudding mix to mine but if you do not like this idea, try adding a tsp. of lemon extract to the mix.

i tried it once, very strong artificial smell and taste. i like to used lemon oil in my white cake recipe with the zest of 2 lemons, gives it a much "cleaner", fresher taste.

I use it a lot too. Everyone who has had it loves it. That is one cake that I sell at least 2 of every week. (it is a "standard" dessert at one of the places that buys from me) It'll be fine! thumbs_up.gif

I use it all the time and everyone loves it. The last time I added a can of 7UP Natural and a box of vanilla pudding. It was super moist & yummy! I also had a lemon-lime filling that really boosted the lemon flavor and it was awesome!

I just made this cake with the DH lemon cake mix and I filled it with a lemon curd and Buttercream mix. They really liked it and someone at the party ordered the same cake flavor for another party the next week.
