Hi Cake Buddies-
I have a question for all you chicken wing eaters out there. My DH & the kids and I ate dinner last night at Damon's. I ordered a sampler appetizer platter for my meal. I never order chicken wings, so I don't know what to believe. As I was eating, I noticed a few hairs on one of my chicken wings. GROSS! I called the waitress over and she said this was normal. That they just can't get all the little hairs off??? Needless to say, it ruined my appetite. When she brought us our check, she aked if I wanted a to go box for my uneaten food. I politely said no-the hairy chicked grossed me out. She said she asked her manager about it too & that he said it's normal. Is this for real?

short of using tweezers to pull the off or that other more darastic method -- burning them off w/ a blow torch!! yep those little "pin" feathers as we called them where I grew up are part and parcel of the package.
personally, I'm more grossed out by all the fat in the skin and the chance of bag buggies from undercooking.

OK, so I am from the home of the original Buffalo wing (Buffalo, NY of course). I can honestly say that I don't recall seeing hair on my food in all my years of eating wings. Maybe it's because it gets singed off in the oil?
I don't know - I'm just really glad I have never had that experience.

Since wings and beer go together so well, just make sure you drink several beers before the wings come. You won't even see the hairs, and if you do, you won't care.
LMAO!!!!
ICK...It is gagging me just thinking about it. I'm glad that I'm not a big chicken wing fan!!!

funny isn't it ....
we gag over these "pin" feather on a wing...
but then turn around and pay top dollar to get them in a "down" comforter.
I'm a quilt girl myself

ew! that's disgusting! I've never had them on my wings, but I get boneless most of the time anyhow.

I just spoke with some co-workers and we all agree that we do not find hair on our chicken wings when they are bought from a restaurant. We do find them on frozen ones we buy at the grocers to make at home. You all just have to come to Buffalo, NY to see (and taste) the difference. You can come visit me while you're here.
