A friend from work is retiring and I said I would make the cake. But, I'm kind of wondering what I should do for a cake. I can't get into the gallery to peek around so I need some ideas. I've poked around some of the other websites out there and by far, I know the work here by you guys is far superior to what I've seen 'out there' regarding retirement cakes.

We are nurses (she is an RN)...I'm thinking that that isn't a good idea for a cake for her...we are always playing the lottery so that we 'don't have' to go to work anymore...But I know she loves gardening. I was thinking of doing some of those chocolate candy butterflies along with some pretty roses and other flowers. I'm not exactly sure how many people will be at this retirement get-together and whether it will be held at work or outside of work...but, I will take any and all ideas.

Also, what kind of saying would you write on the cake?

TIA

could it have something to do with where you work? or does he golf or fish or camp it helps to have somthing to start with? i'm a faithful believer that not every cake needs to be written on icon_surprised.gif so I wouldnt be much help there but at least I will give you a bump.
