Hi all! The corporate cake I am making is for a company that sells soda. I saw a few recipes on here that included soda like root-beer, coke, or 7-up, but they didn't seem to have any ratings. Has anyone tried these? Can I do a sheet cake out of them? If I did fillings, what would you recommend?
Thanks!

I dont know much about it- but I did see it on the Tony Danza show this morning He had someone on who was making cupcakes (I think it was the lady from the cooking channel who does semi homemade stuff) and she said that the carbonation makes it more moist

Coca Cola cake is very good. It's a chocolate cake with cola added. You can definitely make a sheet cake with that recipe. I don't know if you can pipe the chocolate icing that accompanies it.

I haven't tryed the one with just diet soda and cake mix, but it sounds super easy.

I definitely have to get the cake out of the pan! I'm thinking of making a chocolate & a yellow/white cake for this large sheet cake. I was thinking maybe I could do a 7UP cake w/ a lime buttercream filling & a lemon buttercream frosting - but can I get white lemon buttercream? Then I was thinking maybe a root-beer cake or a cream soda cake - or even an RC Cola cake - but then I'm really not sure on a filling for those ideas - or an outside frosting. I want all the frosting to be white b/c I have to put a logo on top of the two sheet cakes together.
I appreciate all of your help!

Artsy..
I have a recipe for a Pina Colada cake that is acutally a revised Weight Watchers recipe! It's AWESOME!! I would recomend checking out some 'diet' dessert sites.. alot of the soda recipes i've seen are on these types of sites because it allows you to cut out the oil in a cake recipe. Hope this helps!
Here is the pina colada cake.....( a friend makes the same version of this cake only using chocolate and coconut (no pinapple) and a 'dark' diet soday instead of a clear one!)
Pina Colada Cake
1 box Yellow cake mix
1 can diet sprit/7-up soda (any clear diet soda will work)
1 can crushed pineapple
3 tsp. Coconut extract
2 Egg whites
1 container Cool Whip light (or other light whipped topping)
1/3 cup shredded, sweetened coconut
Directions:
*DO NOT FOLLOW ANY BOX DIRECTIONS ON CAKE MIX EXCEPT FOR OVEN TEMP.*
Empty boxed cake mix into a mixing bowl.
Add in 1 can of diet soda + 3 ounces pineapple juice from crushed pineapple.
Add in egg whites and coconut extract.
Mix with hand mixer until combined.
Then fold in the crushed pineapple (reserve 2 table spoons of pineapple for garnish)
Bake at 350 for about 25 min (depending on the size of your pan times will vary. I usually use a glass 9 x 13 pan)
**NOTE** This cake will not rise as much as a normal box cake would.
While cake is baking spread shredded coconut on a cookie sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 min. Keep an eye out as this burns easily.
Once cake is done let cool then top with Whipped topping. Garnish your cake with the toasted coconut and crushed pineapple. (keep leftovers refrigerated)
This makes a great, Light, summer dessert!
