To make a C&C filling, I add crushed oreos to my buttercream. I try to leave it a little bit chunky cause the cookies soften in the BC and I like it when you bite into a really soft piece of cookie...you know it's the real deal. I don't have a C&C cake recipe but would be really interested in one. I just use any kind of chocolate cake with the C&C filling.

I saw a cookies and cream cake recipe on the side of a white cake mix - but I haven't tried it yet. Next time you go to the grocery store, check out all the white cake mixes, and you'll probably find it! Good luck!

I've got it. icon_smile.gif It's on the back of a Pillbury White cake mix. Here you go:

1 White cake mix (Pillsbury, in this case, quantities of water, oil & eggs depends on which brand of mix you are using!)
1 1/4 cups water
1/3 cup oil
4 egg whites
1 cup coarsely crushed creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos)

Heat oven to 350. Spray pan with cooking spray. Mix cake as directed on box, then stir in cookies. Bake as normal.

Sounds yummy! I may try this too! I bought 4 white mixes just to play with this week. Going to try the "Love Cake" (probably won't do the heart shape though) on pg 184 of the Cake Doctor book and the Bride's cake on pg 192. I think I'll try a Tres Leches cake too. Anyone want to come over and eat all this cake when I get done??? icon_eek.gif I sure don't need it! LOL

I've made that cake on the back of the Pillbury box and its good! I used a bundt cake pan. Then put oreos around the bottom of the cake and poured frosting over the top. Good cake! One thing though, I just put in the whole egg instead of just the whites. Is it just for color that you would ommit the yolks?

famousamos, yes, when it calls for only egg whites it is to keep your cake white. If you choose to add the whole egg, you should only add 3 instead of 4. Your cake sounds so yummy!!

Here is a link to Albertson's oreo cake recipe. I haven't made it yet, but it sounds delicious! thumbs_up.gif

I just made a chocolate cake with a cookies and cream filling using the cool mint creme oreos instead of the regular and it turned out great. It is a subtle cool sensation in the mouth and resembles the taste of a thin mint cookie. Everyone came up to me to ask about the filling. I used the buttercream dream recipe from this site and crumbled the oreos leaving chunks as reccommended in one of these posts..they do soften and are yummy to bite in to.
