Okay, somebody tell me if I'm crazy. What is the absolute earliest anyone has ever experienced pregnancy symptoms? I could be pregnant, but less than a week. I swear I already feel really crampy, super tired, and I just feel like I'm pregnant. I know it wouldn't show on a test yet though. Anybody out there know they were pg right away?

I've been reading a book called 'Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy'. I really recommend it. In there she did say some people do start feeling it almost immediately.. so I guess it could be possible you're already feeling symptoms.

Some people can know and feel pregnant within the first week - my sister did, she was extremely tired, we found out last week that she was indeed correct. So it is possible - icon_biggrin.gif

I suppose its possiable to feel pregnant that early. But being tired and crampy and cranky can be assciated with so many things. plus the more you tell yourslef you are pregnant the body can do a really wierd thing and actually feel the symtoms. I know this because I have been there more than once. But if you are pregnant congrats and to find out for sure just make an appt with your doctor. But dont be discouraged if it comes up negative at first I was a good 4 months along with both of my kids before it would come out on a test.

About a week before I missed my first period, I was tired, bloated, I could smell things a mile away (oddly) and I had embarrassingly terrible gas (didn't go so well with the previous symptom). So, yes, you definitely can have symptoms early!
With my second, I just knew immediately. I can't remember if I had symptoms or not, but I was just so certain that I was pregnant that it was kind of anit-climactic when I finally took the test.

Best of luck and be sure to keep us updated!! Go ahead and start taking prenatal vitamins, if you haven't already. They certainly won't hurt if you're not pregnant yet.

The week I was pregnant with #3 and #4 I felt kind of gross. My best friend said "Melissa your pregnant" and I swore to her she was evil for thinking such a thing. Well, she was right. I was pregnant each time. She still hold it over my head. icon_cool.gif With #3 the blood test came back INCONCLUSIVE -- since when is that an option? I knew that early in my pregnancy that even the blood test couldn't tell.

My credentials: Mother of 3 plus 2 miscarriages.

My boobs got REAL tender about 20 minutes after sex! Ok, that's a slight exaggeration, but seriously, only 2-3 days later, it was "dont' touch my boobs!" taking a shower was painful! I rolled over and they brushed up against hubby's back and YOW-ZA!! I about flew out of that bed, they were so tender!

The phrase "you're eating for two" came about because of how hungry some expectants mothers get. I knew a co-worker was pregnant when, for 3 days straight, she ate her brown-bagged lunch by 9:30 a.m.!

Each pregnancy is different, but that's what makes for great story-sharing!

I was super tired before my pregnancy test last time. I also had the sore boobs. If the cramping was short-lived, it could have been implantation. Did you have a little spot?

It is normal to feel pregnant before missing your first period. I am the mother of four and went through this too. But, I will say every once in awhile I had false alarms, because sometimes PMS can feel just like pregnancy symptoms.

The more kids I have the earlier I notice the symptoms (I have 3 kids). Usually the first thing I notice is the tiredness. I have to take a nap after folding laundry! Then I have to "go" a lot more often than normal. My nose is also hypersensitive to everything - especially in the kitchen. Usually the clincher for me is craving foods I normally don't like. I usually start noticing symptoms 1-2 weeks before my first missed period.

I felt symptoms within a few days to a week each time. I always feel nausea first thing when I'm pregnant. Tiredness, being the second symptom, is also something I get. I don't really get many other symptoms. I don't ever throw up at least...just the nausea and lack of appetite but they come really quick.

With my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies, I had to retake the tests, (even the doctor's test with my 3rd) because they were too early. I get very impatient to know for certain.

I had a miscarriage once also and knew I was pregnant. I took a home pregnancy test on a friday and then miscarried on the next day. It was my first period after quitting nursing my 2nd so I think it would have been the time of my period anyway. If I had waited another day to take the test, I wouldn't have ever known. It makes me wonder how many women have miscarriages without ever knowing.

I was the same as Maryak, I always knew immediately. I didn't have a period between DD's #2 and #3 but one night after some bedtime activities icon_rolleyes.gif I thought "hmmm, I should remember this date". DD #3 was born two days shy of nine months after that day!! thumbs_up.gif

Isn't is funny how everyone is different? Ther is nothing to go by really. It's fun to listen to people's experiences but you can never give exact advice as to how it will happen. I think it's amazing!

Like many others before, I suffered with sore boobs about two weeks after the suspected deed. tapedshut.gif I was so excited at thought of being pregnant, I eat, dreamed and imagined being prego all day. It is a beautiful thing and if you're feeling certain, you probably are! My husband and I had been somewhat planning a trip to Jamaica but the baby changed that. I surprised him at dinner by saying "I guess we won't be going to Jamaica...) He was really excited! thumbs_up.gif

I have two boys, and both times I had the same experience. About a week after conception I had several days where I felt light-headed. The first time (with my first son), I just thought it was from all of the fertility drugs I had been on - figured it was just another weird reaction to it all.

But with the second son, I had the same exact feeling......very light headed.... a little dizzy. So both times, this started about a week after conception, which made it about a week before when my period would've been.

I remember the first time I got that feeling.....we were at a boat show, and I told my DH that I didn't feel right. He said...maybe you're preggo! I was like, nahhh, maybe it was that mexican food we had last night icon_razz.gif . I just felt light headed and like I wasn't really there (if that makes sense).

Well, I had my first son when we tried for just one month. I was HOPING I was pregnant and felt sure I noticed SOMETHING by the time I was 8-9 days past conception...

Skip several years while DH was getting his PhD, then we tried again. We tried for 7 months before I got pregnant and about 1/2 of those months I SWEAR I felt something... The month I got pregnant? I felt nothing.. I also miscarried that pregnancy and I KNEW I was going to miscarry the day I took the test and got a positive. I told my husband, "I don't feel good about this... It doesn't feel right." At 6 weeks 6 days I started bleeding... had to have a pil to complete the miscarriage at 8 weeks 4 days (ultrasound showed an empty sac - and my HCG levels were too low for where I was)... I remember when I started bleeding... I was devasted, but I KNEW it... I just didn't FEEL pregnant.

Now, two more years. Again, I SWEAR almost every month I felt something - sore boobs? twingles in the pelvic area - every month NOTHING (and so many wasted HPT tests).

Then, we decided we were done trying. We were moving to the DC area and we just wouldn't have enough money for me to stay at home with a child like we did with the first, so I sold off all the baby stuff. DH went out a month before me to start his job while we waited for the house to be available. I stayed back and packed. I joined him a month later had DS #1 is summer camps, I started a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE job (and the commute was 2 hours each way) and when we WERE home (with no furniture save air beds, emergency towels and cooking and a folding table and chairs) we were tearing up our kitchen and living room floor... I got hives for the first time in my life too. We had "fun" ONE TIME that entire month and we were so busy and miserable, I didn't even take note of it really. Before we "had fun" we did talk about what we should do about contraception since we said we were done trying and DH said, "Let's not make any firm decisions right now while we are so stressed out. We'll talk about it next month." Plus, I thought I ovulated already.

Well, about a week later I had VERY faint pink spotting... I sort of took notice, but didn't really pay attention as we were STILL so stressed. In teh meantime I QUIT that AWFUL job and life got a little better... We decided I would look for a job closer in and we were fine temporarily (as we had inherited a little bit of money)... Then... at about what what have been 10 dpo, I started feeling really weird cramping that was vaguely familiar... and some more...and at 11dpo I started spotting, but it was "different" (I sometimes spotted Pre AF)... at 13 dpo I took the test and I KNEW it would be positive... even though EVERYTHING was against it happening. I do think we hit the TAIL END of the ovulation window too...

here we are now with a 2 year old and I'm JUST NOW looking for that job. We did manage for me to stay home this amount of time, but... time is up! LOL

All this to say - your mind/body can play tricks on you... but you CAN know at the same time, but I wouldn't take bets! LOL

Pieface,

I saw your other post about being ready to be a mom. Sometimes motherhood just gets ready for you! Best wishes to you, I hope it turns out the way you want it to!

I'm still feeling the other symptoms, plus several more: sore, tingly boobs, nasal congestion, lightheadedness, food aversions, the whole gamut; and AF isn't due until next week...I can't even take a test yet! It's making me crazy, but I just know I'm pregnant.

Wonderwoman,

I wanted to tell you that there are tests you can buy on the internet that can pick up the HCG as early as 6 to 8 days after conception. That is more than a week before you are due for AF. If you do a google search for early pregnancy tests they will come up. they are super cheap too - like $2.50 a test. they ship them same day and you have them within a day or two. it's worth a shot. I also read an article about consumer reports doing a study on which tests are truly early detection tests and they indicated that First Response could pick up some HCG as early as 8 days after conception - so you might want to go and get that test to see. That test indicates it will detect 50ml/hcg (i think it's ml - but not sure) and the ones on the internet detect as low as 20.

Anyway, just my 2 cents! Good luck.

Joanne

Update: I took a blood test today at my Dr. It was negative, but I still don't believe it. Its only day 8 past when I'm sure I ovulated, so I stopped by Target and bought a 3 pack of First Response tests. I guess I should have ordered those others from the internet! I just live out in the country and next day shipping usually means 3 days or more!
I'll take the home test on Wednesday (the day I leave for vacation, which is why I want to know now!)

For everyone trying to get pregnant I just want to pass on a tip. The dollar stores have pregnancy tests. (Dollar tree, Deals) And yes they do work. I lost track of all of the tests I bought. icon_lol.gif The bad part is since they are so cheap I would take a test like everyday the week before I was supposed to start. I'm very impatient. icon_lol.gif It definately saved me some money from buying the expensive tests. Good luck to everyone trying to conceive! thumbs_up.gif

The only thing I caution people about is reading the tests after the time frame given. If it says, "discard after 5 minutes or 10 minutes" then discard it because after some time, sometimes an evaporation line will appear that can trick some people into thinking it was positive.

Also, with those cheap tests (speaking from experience here), they will show a positive, no problem, but... they will also show where the line "should" be when the urine passes over the part that "would" change colors if it were positive. A clear line is not a blue or red line, so it's nto positive and lastly, just because a positive is faint, doesn't mean anything bad, some lines just never show dark.
