Hey everyone I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to decorate the cake for my twins third birthday. My little boy wants a dragon and my little girl wants a pony, I think she is meaning my little pony, cake. I am trying to figure out a way to incorporate the two so I only have to do one cake. I was thinking I could just do a stacked cake and each one would get their own layer, but I don't know how I could tie the two together and make it look nice. Any ideas would be so greatly appreciated!

What about a compromise and use Dragon Tales theme? My b/g twins love that show.

how about a "split personality" cake? Put one design on each side of the cake. If you're wanting to be more artistic about it, divide it like a Tao and put one design on each side.

I would be afraid with a stacked cake that they would fuss over who got the top layer. I know my sister and I would have. Could you do a princess/knight thing? Perhaps a princess standing beside a unicorn my little pony on one half of a sheet cake and a knight rescuing her from a dragon on the other half?

sleeping dragon w/ it's tail wrapped around and protecting a my little pony unicorn?

blue dragon and pink unicorn of course!

(of course if want to be tad silly -- dragon is sprawled out in that way it seems only cats and dogs (but cats esp.) can do and unicorn is resting it head on dragon's tummy) party hats on both -- some of those party horn blowers and confetti and streamers scattered about (even have them tangled in it)

"we're all tuckered out from wishing you a happy birthday!"

(after all -- those endangered mythical beasts have got to stick together!)

Hey, I would probably do a stacked cake with a foresty look with maybe stones and a waterfall and on one side there could be a fire breathing dragon and on the other two my little ponies? Would this work? They both kind of live in a forest, right? icon_rolleyes.gif
