I have someone requesting a violin cake, do you think I could do one with the wilton guitar pan and just carve it out?

First of all just wanted to say I love your Aviator. Just beautiful! Then, in answer to your question, I've never tried anything like that but I would think it would be your best bet to start with. I'd love to see it after you finish.

find a piece of clip art or a really good photo of a violin you can use as a template.

then you can cut it from either the guitar pan or even a sheet cake.

speggetti (spelling - opps sorry) for the strings dusted in gold or silver luster dust.

Here's a violin I did a violin a few years ago. I made the top as a plaque that was later placed on top of the cake. The strings are actual sewing thread, but I've used Sugar Veil icing on subsequent violin cakes.
