I need to do a cake for a bridal shower, preferably with a Disney theme. I'm not sure yet how many it needs to feed, but probably no more than 25. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want it to look childish at all.
Thank you

I've seen so many carriage cakes here on CC . . . it doesn't have to be cartoonish to be a Disney theme.

Maybe just a simple small 2 tier in white fondant and stamped with mickey heads and then color the mickey heads with gold or silver. For the stamp I would just use the simple design of the head and ears, no face. Maybe a bow toppper or wires with crystal dangles.
I am a Disney freak but I agree that the cake should not be too cartoonish.
Post a pic when you finish it, I love anything Disney!! thumbs_up.gif

I did a groom's cake with the mickey ears hat on it. Maybe you can do something like that with the hat and a veil coming off of it?

What about Cinderella's castle on top of a multi-tiered cake? Maybe a small slipper at the bottom? I just watched the food networks wedding cake challenge about the Disney weddings. Some of the cakes on there were amazing. But, if I were paying $70,000 for a wedding down there, it better be amazing too.

How about one of the Disney princesses as a bride? There's Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Ariel, etc.

I like zoboo2's idea of the mickey heads. You could do a white cake, cover in white fondant or buttercream, and cut the mickey shapes out of fondant, and brush with gold or silver luster dust?

i really like this idea. or black fondant mickey head cutouts. red minnie bow with the white dots, and some cake jewelry on curved wires. an overall spray with sparkle / pixie dust would be nice!

I saw this one on the internet somewhere and thought it would make a cute plaque to go on top of a cake.

In the galleries is the cutest Minnie cake with a big spotted bow. Just add a little tulle or some white flowers...

Thanks for all your replies! Unfortunately, though, the lady decided that she didn't want it.
