I have an order for a John Deere Tractor 3rd b-day cake next month. I would love some ideas. I know there are a couple in this gallery, but if you guys have any other ideas that would be great. I kinda prefer something along the lines of a BCT. I love this technique and people raved about it!! I used Dawns icing recipe and people loved it. I went to another b-day party on Sunday and the cake wasn't great at all. The icing was the basic all crisco buttercream with a hint of lemon flavoring and the cake itself was tasteless and dry. This was from a well known baker in the area so I was kinda happy to be able to compare the two and get ideas!!
I completed my first BCT this past weekend (a strawberry shortcake) and it turned out great!! I will post it in the gallery in a couple of days. THANKS DAWN FOR THE AWESOME TUTORIAL and everyone else for hints along the way (ie. the paint brush to get some of the "worminess" out was a great one).
All ideas will be very apprecicated!!

Get a photo of a Tractor and some photos you will find that it reads the name John Deere. You can add the kids name instead. You can add a small wagon behind the tractor (as if it's pulling it) and add presents in the wagon. (You may have to draw that up) Keeps them a little original. Good Luck!
