I made a few for my daughters birthday in a few weeks. I simply used royal to attach dried fondant leaves to the pretzel rods. I used a basic leaf cutter and had a little gumpaste mixed into the mmf. They came out really cute. Good Luck

Hi Genesis Cakes,
I've made palm trees in the past from Tootsie rolls as well as pretzels for the tree base. For the leafy part, I've used fondant that was cut with a tri-leaf cutter (make 2 of these) which were layered and offset from each other to make the 6 leaf part. Then put this upside down in an egg carton lined with wax paper. Attach the tree base with royal icing and let the tree dry. I'm not sure if marzipan would harden enough, but maybe someone else has experience there. Good luck! Your cake is going to look so cute! Laura

I just did this for a birthday cake last weekend. I used green royal icing & the leaf tip - piped 6 leaves radiating out for each palm tree. I let them dry a couple of days on a flower former. Attached them with green buttercream to my pretzel rods & let those dry upright in a drinking glass. They worked beautifully. I have no experience with marzipan so I can't help you out there.
