This a recipe I´been using for a while. You need:
300 grs of confectioner sugar (powder sugar)
1 tbls of tylose
1 tbls of corn syrup
4 tbls of warm water
You mix confectioner sugar with tylose. In another bowl you mix the corn syrup with 2 tlbs of warm water. Then you add this mix to the sugar mix. If better to add the remaining two water tbls one at a time, the reason is that it depends on the weather (humidity) how many water you are going to need (it could be the 4 tbls, 3 or even a little more). You mix everything until you have a mass that looks like play dough. Finally you put the gum paste in a plastic bag and seal it so no air gets in there. You can then cover the plastic bag with a cloth or put it a bottle or a plastic box. I have noticed that if you leave it in the kitchen and use the oven or it´s really hot the texture of the gum paste gets weird, so it´s better to put it in a cooler place. Leave it for 8 to 12 hours before you use it for modelling. When it is ready to use, you will find it´s hard as a rock, so it´s better to cut the amount you are going to need with a knife and then work with it. Put some confectioner sugar (powder sugar) on the table to work it out. Hope this helps.

Nicholas Lodge has a great recipe. Been using it for years. Just go to firstimpressionsmolds.com and it is on that site. Or Just google Nicholas Lodge gumpaste recipe and you will see several sites for it. It is easy to make . Easy to roll thin and thin the petals etc. I can,t say enough about it. I use that or wilton premade. I love them both.hth

That's what I used for my snowflake cake, Nicholas Lodge recipe. I don't know why I was ever afraid to try it. I put it off for years. He is a good instructor and I wish I had seen him earlier.
