Try lemon filling mixed with buttercream = lemonbutter
or even just buttercream alone is fine too.
You could do a preserve ie Raspberry jam mixed with buttercream= Raspberrycream
Possibilities are endless!

You can do pretty much anything with a yellow cake. Fill it with fresh fruit or a flavored buttercream ( lemon, raspberry, chocolate, etc.)

just read the question about the what filling to use for a yellow cake and all the replies. The lemon buttercream sounds really good. I know this is a silly question, but could someone send me the extact recipe. What kind of lemon filling? and is it as simple as just adding it to the buttercream frosting?
thanks

Hi illini89,
Just use lemon pie filling by itself or add a TBSP or two to your buttercream for flavouring.
You can also look up your local cake suuplier and by a sleeve of lemon filling.

Ooh, I have a good one, just made it a few days ago:

Yellow cake, filled and frosted with Chocolate Hazelnut Buttercream (made with Nutella spread). And I put Heath bar pieces on top of the filling in the middle of the cake. Heaven!!!
