I was asked to do a Mr. Potato Head cake for my neighbor and I am not sure where to start. first let me say i dont work with fondant, marzipan (sp), ect, ect....


so all butter cream for me. does anyone have any ideas?

You could use a sports ball and carve to the shape of the potato head or if you have an egg pan might be the right shape. I think you could use royal icing to make the decorations for it, some of the decorations could be buttercream but you will need arms and legs and the royal would be good to use.

I can't wait to see a Mr. potato head cake icon_biggrin.gif ! Do you have any ideas on how your going to do the arms and legs, or will it be just the head? Are there any pic of Mr. potato head on here, I never even checked, going to do that now lol. Can't wait to see your cake, I thought the egg pan would be the best way to go to icon_smile.gif

i will probably do the arms and feet in butter cream like on my spongbob cake...

yes there are a few mr potato heads on here and i found a few when i googled it too.
