Hi everyone. Hey, lookie, I just reached 100 posts. Yay!!!! I think I should celebrate. Let's see, I could make me a cake. Yep I think that's what I'll do icon_biggrin.gif Alrighty, got a question first. I'm really going to show my inexperience here but can anyone tell me what was used to make the baloons on the picture that I hope I attached? I'm sure it is something really simple but I'll be darned if I know what it is. Thanks so much guys.

I would use royal or colorflow to pipe an enlarging circle onto parchment rather than directly on the cake. The reflective spots of white are a very nice touch making the balloons look shiny. Once they are dry, it will be easy to transfer them to the cake.

you can also use buttercream frosting. once you have made your baloons take clear karo on the tip of you finger and round them out and that way they will shine for you

It's called Light corn syrup or light Karo syrup and it's usually in the syrup section. icon_smile.gif ~Josie

Royal icing and then when the balloons are dry it is painted with a fine brush white to look like the reflection.
