I'm going to get a new mixer.

I'm looking at a Kitchen Aid Pro or Cooks.

Any pros/cons of both would be appreciated. Let me know if you know of a different brand I should take a look at.

Thanks all!

Andrea

Wanted to add that I do want to eventually do fondant work. So I want to make sure the mixer can handle that.

I have an Artisan KitchenAid and I love it. I think it´s an excellent buy. I don´t know about the other brand.

My dad actually bought me a Wolfgang Puck 700 Watt stand mixer a couple years ago for Christmas and I love it. But, I haven't tried fondant in it yet so I can't speak to that. I eventually plan to get a Bosch Universal because they are awesome and can handle about anything, including HUGE batches of bread dough (including whole wheat just to give you an idea of it's strength). I want a stand mixer. I have a stand one now, but it's just not good enough.

I have a KA 5 qt. Artisan mixer and a Cooks commercial mixer, I think its 700 watts. The cooks has more power, but is very loud. I use both all the time. My suggestion is to buy the best you can afford. I have heard great things about De Longhi brand, but those are pricey.

I got my eye on a DeLonghi Dsm7 ...
comparably priced to KA it packs 980 watts and a 7 qt bowl... most reviews I've read are good... a few had problems but it seemed more with delivery and possibly refurbished models which I would not go for...
good accessories and nice looking too!
