Kitchen Aid Vs Cooks Or Something Else???!!!???

I'm going to get a new mixer.
I'm looking at a Kitchen Aid Pro or Cooks.
Any pros/cons of both would be appreciated. Let me know if you know of a different brand I should take a look at.
Thanks all!

See I'm in a much better mood now than I was earlier when I didn't get to go to my class.

Wanted to add that I do want to eventually do fondant work. So I want to make sure the mixer can handle that.

My dad actually bought me a Wolfgang Puck 700 Watt stand mixer a couple years ago for Christmas and I love it. But, I haven't tried fondant in it yet so I can't speak to that. I eventually plan to get a Bosch Universal because they are awesome and can handle about anything, including HUGE batches of bread dough (including whole wheat just to give you an idea of it's strength). are you looking at hand mixers or counter top mixers?
I want a stand mixer. I have a stand one now, but it's just not good enough.

I have a KA 5 qt. Artisan mixer and a Cooks commercial mixer, I think its 700 watts. The cooks has more power, but is very loud. I use both all the time. My suggestion is to buy the best you can afford. I have heard great things about De Longhi brand, but those are pricey.

I am checking out the DeLonghi brand now. Thanks for the tip!

I got my eye on a DeLonghi Dsm7 ...
comparably priced to KA it packs 980 watts and a 7 qt bowl... most reviews I've read are good... a few had problems but it seemed more with delivery and possibly refurbished models which I would not go for...
good accessories and nice looking too!
