There are many different things you can do for a boy -- use the theme of the baby's room for inspiration, or the baby shower invitations and decorations. Anything that is special to the mother? I've even matched a couple of cakes to Pottery Barn bedding. There are several boy shower cakes in my photos - the most recent one was a sports theme cake in buttercream with fondant and gumpaste accent pieces. Several cakes on CC are fantastic. Does the shower have a theme? One of the cakes here on cc, is blue, white and brown with baseballs on it. I don't remember who made it, but it is adorable.
I'm making a cake for a shower next weekend (60 people) and they do not know the sex of their baby...nor do they have a shower theme! I can feel you pain, of not knowing what to do!
I know I've seen pictures of a baby's quilt, that would be really cute too! If I can find the pics, I'll PM them to you!
