Help Making Graduation Cake For Daughter's Kindergarten ~
Decorating By Kimanalynn Updated 11 Apr 2006 , 5:51pm by Kimanalynn

I have to make the cake for my daughter's kindergarten class; no big deal, right?? WRONG!! It is for her class, plus one more class. 50 kids. Two parents per kid, 150 people. Then start adding in grandma, and grandpa, and aunt, and uncle, and cousins, and siblings, and all the step-whatever, and I have an assumption of about 350-400 people!!!
Any ideas?? I was thinking of a graduation cap on top, and I would like to do squares, but how do I decorate such a large cake for kindergarten graduation? Any suggestions on sizes, too, would be totally helpful! Thanks in advance

I would ask whoever is organizing (probably whoever asked you to make the cake) how many servings they are going to need??? If you're planning on making a graduation hat, I think that would be adorable...you can use a small 6"round cake on top of a sheet cake or something...that should give you a lot of servings....then make a square out of melted chocolate and let it harden and use that for the top of the graduation hat! Maybe even add a fondant rolled up "diploma" with a ribbon tied around it.

Oh, man I totally didn't think of making a smaller one and then doing a few sheet cakes! What a relief that will be to not have to have a very large tiered cake to take in! Thanks so much!
