Hello all you Texas decorators, Please let me know what food color to use to get the UT (University of Texas) color! It's a burnt orange if you ask me.

Do I use a certain color or is it a mix of colors? Today I tried a whole bottle of terracotta - still alittle to bright I think. Please let me know what you have used.

THANKS!!

I tried to make this color once and think I used orange with a little brown. Just adjust a little at a time till it looks right.

I've not tried it, but my WMI said that you take orange and brown and just add a little at a time till you get your color. make sure that you make enough for what you need because it's really hard to get the colors the same the second time. ya know.

I would say like one drop of brown. That is how I tone down red also, works like a charm

Thanks everyone the color is close enough. I am doing Longhorn colored flip flops (the groom went to UT) for a bridal shower here in florida. They turned out cute!! They have also ordered a $1,500. wedding cake and a football field with a Longhorn carved on the top for the groom cake. That's why I was wanting to get the color really perfect. It's my practice run for the real deal.

Thanks agian.
