How do I paint on fondant? Is it just regular food coloring or what? I would love to try it but can't find out how to do it. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated
I am listing a picture that I got from the "Jolly Be Bakery" website. This is an example of what I am talking about.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm painting one for this weekend. I'm using regular gel paste icing color mixed with a few drops of alcohol.
I just bought new brushes too and it is so much fun to do.
That's a really cool website by the way! I thought I had reached the end of the web for cakes lol! I loved having something new to look at.
Good luck!

like rubbing alcohol?
I think she means Booze
They make fondant pens or gels I forget.
You can also use your regualr cake decorating coloring and mix with clear vanilla
Good luck!

no no hun rubbing alcohol is poisoness. But grain alcohols like vodka or gin or even everclear. i even saw somewhere where someone used white rum (becuase it had a better aftertaste) the alcohol evaporates out in a few minutes anyway so there is no chance of someone not passing a breathalizer test after having a piece of cake that has been painted.
You don't have to buy a whole fifth of vodka or anything to try this out either, you can use what they call "shooters" those neato looking little bottles of vodka or gin. They are only like a single shot size. Would be perfect if you are only using this for a small project or just one cake.

When I use vodka I use a new eye dropper and it only takes about 2 or 3 drops. There is no taste, it evaporates.
Although my husband did look at me strangely when he came home at 10:00 in the morning and I had a bottle of vodka open in front of me. He didn't quite believe that it was for painting the cake!lol
