I've heard that you can freeze buttercream frosting. Can anyone tell me if it's just the frosting without butter or milk or can I freeze some that contains butter? Also, if I can freeze the frosting that contains butter, how long can I keep it in the freezer? Thanks so very much!!!!

Most icings can be frozen, although the meringue icings can't. Butter creams (with or without butter) freeze fine. If well packaged and protected from freezer burn, they can last months. thaw and rebeat it before you use it-and taste it for "freezer taste". In a normal freezer/fridge combo, especially frost-free types, it won't hold up as well.
