Actually no=( Half and half is half cream half milk. Just read this recently. Sorry=( And when I was researching this myself, they said in desserts there isn't a substitue for heavy cream. Only for savory dishes you can use a white sauce. Maybe someone here has successfully substituded something for the heavy cream=)

No the half and half will be too thin...I think you can make whipping cream from heavy cream by whipping it to incorporate some air into it.

Heavy whipping cream is near the milk in a grocery store. You will find it by the squirt cans of whipped topping. Ohh and it come in a carboard container, just like some milks do.

Its in the milk aisle and it's right beside the half and half. If you go to walmart, the store brand is in a blue container.

You don't need a "brand" for the cream.... it will come in quart, pint, and half pint sizes.... it will just say HEAVY CREAM, or Possibly WHIPPING cream on the carton..... the same for the 1/2 & 1/2.......But you need HEAVY cream for whipping.....

Yep the heavy cream is in the milk aisle. I found it with the liquid coffee creamers at my grocery store and it does say just that, heavy cream.

I found this out just today in fact...never used it before either.
