What Is Your Favorite Cake, Icing And Filling Combo...

I am having a cake tasting party and am trying to get ideas for flavor combos so I thought I would ask you all what your favorites are. Mine would be white cake with orange cream filling and vanilla buttercream icing. Mmmm like a dreamsicle. So what is your favorite?

I did a cake tasting open house last spring and Chocolate cake with Raspberry filling went over pretty big.

I really like white cake w/ rasberry or bavarian creme.
Love chocolate cake w/ chocolate mousse filling!
Carrot cake w/ cream cheese
lemon cake w/ lemon curd filling
yellow cake w/ chocolate mousse and bavarian creme, tastes like boston cream pie mmmmm!

Mmmmm, I love threads like this!!! Okay, I'm wiping off the drool... I LOVE chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chocolate mousse...mmmmm.
Also a big fan of white cake with raspberry filling and buttercream.

I like white cake with (or without) vanilla mousse filling and vanilla buttercream frosting.

Chocolate cake, caramel filling, dark chocolate ganache (in place of icing)

I love coconut cake w/ coconut buttercream, chocolate cake w/ peanut butter filling, and of course chocolate cake with choc. filling covered in dark choc. ganache. Oh and rum cake with a rum glaze.
Wow, I need a dessert fix now!

You mean you are supposed to put the icing ON the cake?
I thought it was meant to be eaten with a spoon straight out of the bowl!
I agree that chocolate is the way to go. Chocolate with raspberry, YUM.



Can't go wrong with the chocolate cake and raspberry filling. My absolute favorite. With a fudgy chocolate frosting.


I have two: French Vanilla with Apricot filling with BC icing and Deep Dark Chocolate with White Chocolate Raspberry filling and covered in Ganache... Yum.... made one of those this weekend and I actually got to eat a piece of it.........

Mississippi mud (hubbys grandmas recipe) with marshmellow cream melted on top.. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM Oh my, we have cut down ALOT on sweets.. LOL I swear my mouth is watering! (cupcakes are the best, wont waste and you can store them better)

White Chocolate Rasberry Mousse
6 oz melted white chocolate chips or white chocolate
16 0z container of "whipped topping" - room temperature
3 to 4 Tbsp pureed fruit - I just use preserves "Simply Fruit by smuckers"
I have used raspberry, strawberry, apricot
Heat the fruit a few seconds in the microwave, then mix it with the melted chocolate. Then stir in the "room temperature" whipped topping. This hold up really good and I have not needed to use an icing dam with it, it has not leaked on me.


I just made a mad hatter cake for my MIL's bday. All the cakes were a hit with friends and family.
Coconut cake, Dark chocolate cake, coconut IMBC.
Devils Food Cake, Banana cake, Peanut Butter IMBC - this was my favorite!!
White Chocolate cake, raspberry mousse, white chocolate IMBC.
