I have a woman who would like a two tier birthday cake for her daughter's 6th birthday. She stated that she does not want it to look like a wedding cake so I am assuming she would like it stacked. She stated that the theme is a girly type of party where some older girls are going to come in and do the younger girls hair, make-up, nails, etc.
She sent me a few cake pics that she found on the internet but they looks like stacked presents with a bow.

I am kind of leaning towards the top layer looking like a bottle of nail polish but am drawing a blank for the rest of it. I know that I saw a nail polish cake on here somewhere but can't seem to find it again.

Anyone have any ideas?
TIA

Not sure if this will help but here's some instructions I found online at this website, however it dosen't have any pictues:

Make a Lipstick Cake!
Ive included this cake in both categories because while its very impressive, it is relatively easy to make.

Either buy a log cake or bake your own jellyroll cake (use a mix or do it from scratch if youre so inclined). The log will be the tube case of the lipstick. Frost it in a solid color like a yellow/gold or blue/gray (like Clinique!). The frosting can be easily made by adding food coloring to store bought or homemade white frosting (Wilton cream colors work particularly well). With a contrasting color pipe two horizontal lines across the bottom of the tube, about 2 apart, for the twist part of the tube. (Use a store bought little tube with a writing tip or mix another color and use your pastry bag). With a fork make vertical lines in the frosting just between the two lines.

For the lipstick that sticks out of the tube buy a frozen pound cake (nobody doesnt like Sara Lee). Defrost the cake and trim it to the desired shape. A little rounded point at the top looks great. Place the straight short edge right up against the top of the tube. Frost with a pretty pink frosting. What could be more fun?

HTH-I'll keep looking for pics! thumbs_up.gif

I just made a VERY girly cake for an 8 year old's party and the girls LOVED it and so did all of the parents! I can send you a picture if you send me your email address. It says "girls rule" and it has girls with purses, lip stick, etc.

Do a search using the words " make up" or " lipstick" and even "cosmetics". TONS of photos came up when i did the search.. I love the ones with the make up bag and the make up is showing from the top... LOOK at this one.. Not a nail polish, but still girly.. Good Luck!
