I have tons of shape pans from when I was new and my boys were little many of them are retired... I have no time to mess with Ebay so I am selling them at a garage sale... what would be a good price ? I was thinking $5 each and maybe a discount if they buy more than 4 opinions ???

I honestly don't know if you'll get $5, it would depend on who stopped in, if you don't get someone who does shapred cakes you might not sell them at that price. Most of the time when my sisters or I have found them for rummage or at a second hand store they're only $1-2.
I'm not saying they aren't worth the $5. Look the ones you have up on ebay to see if it might be worth it to you to sell them there instead, there are a couple that go pretty high.

Yes...check ebay first..there are a few like the Star Wars pans that are worth it to list on ebay...same with Ariel..little Mermaid from 4-5- yrs ago...Mystical Dragon is another one that sells well.

The Good Will in my area sell them for 2.99 and keep them on the shelves. I say ask 5 some may be worth more. People who collect the pans know the prices You can always take less people like you to come down cause everyone likes a deal. I say go for 5 I'm selling a big lot of them on e-bay I've sen them go for alot of money.

you'll do much better on ebay. I just checked for a #1 pan for another thread and they were selling for over $10 each PLUS shipping.
If you go the garage sale route, I'd be sure to put "Wilton Shaped Pans" in your newspaper ad. At least you'd get the attention of those who may be looking for these. (As a Coke collector, I always hit the ones that advertise Coke items! .... and I hit them early!)

I think that you would be much better off selling them on Ebay. I have purchased several from Ebay and now would like to sell them. I have never sold on Ebay but need to learn the ropes. If you will go to this link you will find them. I looked it up as highest price first.

Some of the character pans are worth quite a bit. Of course, if I were to put mine on there, that would be when everyone decided they didn't want them anymore.

ok thanks I see I need to slow down and find some time as a few of mine go for around $30 though I tossed most of the papers so I would likely get less but still more than $5
If you are talking about the instructions being thrown away you can go to wilton.com and get some of them and also to http://www.cakepans4less.com/ and get alot of the older ones. I have found almost all of the instructions to my old pans this way.
I have a book on collecting cake pans and it tells what they are suppose to be worth. PM me if you want to know about any of the older ones.

I have been trying to find an R2D2 cake pan. My son will be 35 this year. When he was young I had this pan but unfortunately I loaned it out and never got it back. I have tried quite a few times on ebay with no luck. Love to know if anyone had one they would like to sell.

you will certainly get the best price on ebay, there are companies now that will do the listing and everything for you for a %, which may work in your favor if they go for more then at your garage sale. another option is in the classified or craigslist in your area, both are generally free to post, people are always looking. ask a little bit more so you have room to be haggled down. you'll have no problem getting rid of them.
