I have a client who has a feather theme at her wedding. Can anyone suggest how to incorporate this into a cake? She is wanting a square tiered cake with a fondant swag. I am reluctant to use real feather plumes from a craft store. Thanks for your help.

Oh, I saw a photo of a feather cake somewhere on another site and it so cool. I can't for the life of me remember where it was. However, I know the effect was done with rice or wafer paper. Maybe someone knows what I'm talking about. It was a celebrity wedding cake, don't remember who's though. What good am I to you right now? lol This post might trigger someone elses brain because apparently mine's not functioning yet today. If I can come across it, will let you know.

ChefStef--I did a search on here and found the one below. It's made from rice paper. HTH K'ly

That's the same one I just found. They have some really pretty cakes. K'ly

I've done a white feather cake, it's on my photos and also on my web-site:

It was easily the easiest cake I've ever made, you simply cut rice paper into shards with scissors and stick it around the cake using royal icing. Easy Peasy. If you want more info PM me.

Tell me all about the rice paper. Looked at your feather cake and that is COOL! Where do I get it, and what do I do with it once I have it? Here's a question that's going to make me look like an "igmo." Do you eat it or is it more for the looks? Take the stuff off the cake before eating? lol at myself.
thanks.

If you have a look at the cake in 'my photos' I've outline how to make it in the comments bit. It's REALLY easy I promise! The rice paper is totally edible.

Hi there,
I have a question about the rice paper feathers. I have a cake for this weekend that require this look but when I did the trial run, the rice paper was sticking straight upwards instead of the ends kind of folding down. How do I get the ends to fold/curl a bit without completely curling? Thank you very much!

Steam them. Not so much they curl all the way over. But just enough for the look you like.

Hello, I have to do this feather method and I tried going to your website to view your tutorial and its not coming up. Do you have a new site? I read the comments and do you have to let the feather sit for an hour or so before you steam it? Can you help me please? Thank you
