Hi al,

I have been away for a while, but now i'm back.

I was wondering what is the diference between the vegetable crisco and the butter crisco.

I always uses the veg crisco, but now my mother-in-law has send me a butter crisco, and i don't know what to do with it.

Do i use it in my recipes like i would my veg. crisco.
Please help, thanks Caduchi

Yes you would, the only difference to me is the cost.

you would use them interchangeably in recipies. I haven't really noticed a difference in taste, so I'm going back to just white Crisco to free up cabinet space. Do you all use the sticks or out of the can. I love the sticks!!

I use the butter-flavored Crisco for my buttercream frosting (in place of white crisco) and it does give it a better taste. I really love the sticks since it's so much easier to measure out, but I often have a difficult time finding them in the teeny grocery stores we have here in NYC.

I noticed a stronger butter flavor when using the butter crisco. I prefer it, the only downside is if you want your buttercream to be crisp white, it will be a little more off white w/this. Ive learned not to subsitute flavors (or brand names) on ingredients, it totally throws everything off.
