

Make sure the opening of your tip is wide enough - and you need to use a thinner icing for the leaves (add some pipng gel to your icing). #67 is hard to get a nice tip on no matter what you do - take your fingers and dip them in cornstarch and push the ends together on that one.

One thing to do is widen the prongs of your 67 using your metal spatula. You want the prongs to stand straight up. The second thing is to try adding piping gel to you thin consistency icing. After you release pressure, pull away a little slower to see if you get the tip.I actually don't like using this tip because it doesn't usually result in nice tips.
I never have trouble with a 352 (or those type tips) I always have it positioned to resemble a birds beak, pipe my leaf, release pressure and pull away and always have good tips. Use this one always!

OOPS I do mean BIRD"S beak!! Sorry. I just got the yearbook and it does use a 352 for the leaves on top of the cupcakes and 67 for the palm trees.
When making you 352 leaves, try just piping the leaf in one spot without moving you tip until you get the size you want the release pressure and pull away. It looks like it is a bunch of small 352 leaves.
If you use the 67 on the trees, the cornstarch trick should help or you can use a DAMP soft bristle decorator's brush. I also had a student that used a Q-tip and it seemed to help!
