How Many Cups Is 16 Oz Of Marshmellows?

Does anyone know how many cups of marshmellows are needed for the MMF recipe that requires 16 oz's? Is it 2 cups?

2 cups..8 oz is 1 cup

Thanks, I was just wondering if Marshellows were different! Don't know why! hahaha.

(I have this HUGE bag of marshmellows and will need to measure)

2 cups by weight, not by volume though. Unless you squish every last bit into the measuring cup.

Might make a difference.

I wouldnt go by the normal 8 oz is one cup when it comes to marshmallows. I have a 16 oz bag of regular sized (not Mini) marshmallows here and it says that a normal serving size is 4 pieces and that there are about 15 servings in the bag. There is also a recipe at the top for Whipped Sweet Potatoes which says that 24 Regular sized Marshmallows ia about 3 cups. I would think that would mean that 8 would be about 1 cup. I hope this helps you.

Approx 60 per bag.
7.5 cups (8 per cup)

I think what I am going to do is pull out my scale and measure it by weight...I think that is what the bag is going by anyway! (will let you know how many cups that is! Grin!)

I think you are missing the point, you can't go by weight in this case. it's got to be by volume.

Well, I weighed out 16 oz which was roughly 8 cups. The bag is 2.2 lbs, and it looks like it used about half the bag, so I suspect this may work. Will see how the MMF turns out!

16 oz is one pound, so if your bag is 2.2 pounds, roughly half would be 1 pound (or 16 ozs).
